We got a new cat named Pooh
Well, we adopted a cat from my friend Kristy. We kept the name Pooh because he got used to it after being her foster cat for the last six months. I was a little concerned because I have 2 dogs, chows, and wasn't sure how they would all react to each other. Well, it was the biggest non-reaction I have every seen! We got the cat Saturday and locked up the dogs and let him wander around and smell things and leave his scent in the house. Once Kristy and Dean left, we put the cat in Justin's room and let the dogs out. There is a gate across Justin's doorway to keep the dogs out (they can't be trusted in his room) so we just opened the door for them to see each other. The dogs sniffed and whimpered and the cat gave a small hiss, but that was it! YAY!
Kristy had tried to adopt him out before and it didn't work out with another cat so she was worried. Right now if the cat wants to be away from the dogs he goes to my son's room and chills on his side of the gate. He loves to sit in our window sills and listen to the birds and play with Justin. He walked right by one in the living room and it didn't even raise its' head to look at him. So we now have a new family member. He is sleeping with Justin as I write this...one happy kid, one happy cat!
