Baking
Like most mom's I am trying to do it all...make all the gifts, wrap them, bake cookies and treats, get something ready for teachers and the class room party, decorate the house, make candy for my DH's office party, and don't forget my job, making my customers beautiful for the holidays. If only I had a staff to yell at and get it all done! In the middle of this craziness they are dismissing my son's school early due to snow. I am resigned to never getting it all done. The house won't win any white glove awards, but it is full of love and fun and laughter. My presents look like a five year old wrapped them, but no one will care once they are opened. The 7 year old is going to decorate the cut out cookies (that I bought already cut out at GFS- love those place and bakes), and if we are lucky we will be able to see the frosting thru the sprinkles. My son and I will get the teacher gifts made, pipe cleaner and pony bead snow flakes, and when it is all over and I look at my family and the look on my son's face when he opens his present from "Santa" (yes he still believes), I'll shed a tear and it will all have been worth it. Whatever you believe in, and whoever you are, I hope this holiday season brings your family and friends near to you, because love and miracles are the true meaning of this time of year.
